Gaming reviews for dads who refuse to put down the controller.
Life changes when you become a dad, and gaming time becomes a precious resource. Dad Respawned is here to help you decide which games are worth your limited free time, your late nights, and those precious hours of sleep.
With honest reviews, real-world gaming impressions, and our signature “Is It Worth Losing Sleep For?” rating, we help gaming dads separate the must-plays from the ones that can wait.
Because fatherhood might change your schedule, but it doesn’t mean it’s game over.
Why Dad Respawned?
Becoming a dad changes just about everything, including how much time you have for the things you love. Gaming sessions get shorter, backlogs get bigger, and sometimes even finding an hour for yourself feels like completing a game on the hardest difficulty.
Dad Respawned is for all the dads trying to find their way back to gaming, rediscover old hobbies, or simply make a little room for themselves between nappies, bedtime routines and everything else that comes with family life.
After seven years of writing for a gaming magazine, I stepped away from the world of gaming journalism. Now, I’m ready to pick up the controller again, return to writing, and see where this next chapter takes me.
Some people say written media is dying. Maybe the game has changed, but I don’t think it’s over just yet.
Dad Respawned is about celebrating the games we love, making the most of the time we have, and proving that becoming a dad doesn’t mean giving up the things that make us who we are.
The backlog can wait. Fatherhood comes first. But once everyone’s asleep? It’s time to respawn.
The “Is It Worth Losing Sleep For?” scale
Every game gets a score out of five beds. The question isn’t just whether a game is good. It’s whether it deserves your precious gaming time, and whether you’ll regret staying up for it when morning arrives.
0/5 · Forget about it.
You’re going to be pissed off and tired tomorrow. Not worth it.
1/5 · You should’ve gone to bed.
You sacrificed your sleep for that? Tomorrow’s going to be long, and you’ve got nobody to blame but yourself.
2/5 · Sounded like a good idea last night.
The regret hits in the morning. There were moments of fun, but was it really worth the bags under your eyes?
3/5 · Just one more mission…
A decent game that keeps you playing, even if you’ll question your life choices when the alarm goes off. Worth a late night now and then.
4/5 · Worth losing sleep for.
You know you’ll pay for it tomorrow, but you’re already planning your next session. Sleep is important. This game is really good, though.
5/5 · Sleep is for the weak.
A masterpiece that makes you forget what time it is. You’ll regret staying up, but you’d do it all over again tonight.
