Want to try Crimson Desert before buying it? Pearl Abyss has introduced a five-hour free trial of the open-world action adventure on PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
On PS5, the trial is available to PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe subscribers. Xbox players can access it without a subscription, making it a chance for more players to explore the world of Pywel before deciding whether to purchase the full game.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind. The five-hour trial can only be used once per account, and once the time is up, it cannot be restarted. However, any progress made during the trial carries over if you decide to buy the game.
The trial covers the Crimson Desert Enhanced base game and does not include the Charting the Unknown expansion. Pearl Abyss says the PlayStation trial is available until 29 October 2027, while the Xbox trial runs until 7 January 2027.
Five hours may only scratch the surface of a huge open-world adventure, but it should give curious players a decent opportunity to see whether Crimson Desert is for them before spending money on it.
